Practice at Home

  • Ball Balance
    • While keeping a ball balanced on the racquet strings, walk 20 feet, touch the ground with your opposite hand and walk back to the starting point without dropping the ball.

  • Ball Kid Burst
    • Place a racquet on the ground and a pile of 3 tennis balls 15 feet away from the racquet. Starting from the racquet, run and grab each tennis ball (one at a time) and run back to place them on the racquet strings until they are all collected. Try to complete this within 20 seconds.

  • Up and Downs
    • With your palm facing down holding the racquet, try tapping the ball 10 times in a row, letting the ball bounce up waist high. Now switch your hand with the palm facing up, bump the ball up in the air 10 times without missing. Bounce ball up to eye level.

  • Round-A-Bout
    • Use your racquet and a ball.  Have your palm up holding the racquet and roll the ball around the edge of the racquet.

  • Line Hops
    • Fine a line on the sidewalk, put a length of tape down or jump rope.
    • Put your feet together and face the line. Quickly hop front to back, over the line keeping feet together.
    • Hop with on two feet sideways, then turn the other way and jump sideways.
    • Hop from front to back on one foot and then the other.
    • Count up to 10 for each jump
